Scales Academy

The “Scales Academy” is Dreamflight’s recreational gymnastics program.  It consists of seven levels based on colors.  The colors of one’s “Scales” determine their level, and the skills they’ve achieved to reach that level.  Moving up in level requires the testing of that level by the Head Coach.  From lowest to highest level, these colors follow the rainbow: Red, Orange, Yellow, Green, Blue, Indigo, and then finally Prism Scales.

The Philosophy of Fluidity

Once a child gains their “Green Scales”, they have the option to join the Competitive Team.  This option is NOT a “one-time offer”.  Instead, as any gymnast progresses through Blue, Indigo, and Prism, they will always have the choice between programs, and neither is seen as more important than the other.  If the gymnast desires more hours, a harder push, more responsibility, and the competition aspect, then Team is for them.  If the gymnast desires a slower pace, less hours, and has no interest in competition, then the Scales Academy is for them.  Regardless, they will always progress if gymnastics is their passion.
