Between social media and the playground, our kids’ generation faces battles unlike those we did, even a decade ago. Intolerance and cruelty goes unchecked in too many environments, and the old guard rails set up for a child’s healthy growth have brittled with apathy.
At Dreamflight, kids of all ages are shown kindness, earn respect, and learn acceptance, while strengthening the heart, body, and mind. We are “Where Athleticism Meets The Arts”, and we believe every child has the right to dream, and the potential to fly.
Our Crisis Has Changed But Is Not Over
Thanks to Volunteer Lawyers and Accountants for the Arts getting us an incredible legal firm to fight for us, we came to a lease agreement with the new owners of our building that gives us until July 2028 to move. While giving us a little more breathing room, it is also a concrete date, as there will be no extensions.
Thus, we recognize the best thing for Dreamflight’s kids is raise enough money through our Capital Campaign to buy a building for ourselves, so their second home is never again threatened by outside forces.
The new goal, we admit, is Herculean. Buying a building is no small endeavor and means having enough capital set aside for a down payment, improvements and moving costs before we can start looking for an available building. So our new goal is $350,000 by the end of 2027, as it will take time to find and close on a commercial building of the required size for our programs.
We always appreciate individual donors - you are all wonderful! - and we hope you will continue to support our goal; yet, we also need your help finding corporate sponsors and philanthropic individuals, groups, and foundations from the community. If you know of any such individual or group who might help, we ask only that you arrange a meeting or introduction, so we can present our case. We'll handle the rest, but we need that foot in the door to be given a chance.

At Dreamflight, our Evie is excited for each class, and her interests have grown beyond gymnastics, into additionally taking dance there, too! She feels welcome and seen and supported by the coaching staff. Beyond our lil’ 9 year-old gymnast, my wife and older daughter also routinely take advantage of Coach Matthew’s extensive knowledge during Adult Classes, where they each workout for an hour on the equipment - I can attest that it’s a load of fun!
